Kaghan Valley
Kaghan is the name of most attractive valley in the Mansehra District of Hazara in the North West Frontier Province of Pakistan. This 160 km long valley is famous as one of Pakistan’s most popular summer holiday spots.

Kunhar River which is famous because of its trout fish flows through the valley and has towns of Balakot, Paras, Mahandari, Kaghan and Naran on its banks. The valley features pine forests, alpine meadows and crystal clear water lakes and cool mountain streams. The local people are friendly and simple. Gujar nomads are one of the most interesting features of Kaghan Valley. They take their flocks of cattle to the high pastures of the upper Kaghan Valley in spring and bring them down again in autumn. While going to Kaghan you will find them camped along the road in their typical tents or moving up or down the valley with their herds of pack animals, sheep and goats.

Trekking
Kaghan is an excellent destination for trekking. There are number of trekking routs.
Pony Riding
Pony riding is another favourite activity one can enjoy during a trip to Kaghan Valley.
Climbing
Kaghan is also good place for amateur climber to learn basic skills of mountain climbing.
Fishing
Fishing is an other main activity in Kaghan Valley. You can fish for brown and rainbow trout in the crystal clear water of lakes.
River Rafting
River Rafting and kayaking are new sports currently under development along Kunhar River.
Lake Saiful Muluk
Saiful Muluk is the top attraction of Kaghan Valley, most visitors to Naran pay a visit to this legendary lake. Along the side valley to the east of Naran, a 10 km jeep track leads through a picturesque valley. You can also walk up the eight km trek in about three hours. But this option is only for those who are fit enough to climb about 3000 feet in eight kilometers.
